During the month of January, WMS, Inc. held its' first Blankets, Bears, and Juice (BB&J) drive. This was a partnership with the Boys & Girls Home of NC, servicing The Child Advocacy Center. These wonderful individuals facilitate the transition of displaced and traumatized youth ages 3-17, when they are removed from the home. Each child gets to select their cozy plush friend from the "zoo", a blanket, and juice, when they are checked in.
With the generosity of you, You and YOU, we were able to deliver 200+ blankets & bears, and 400+ juice packs. WOW! The Center goes through approximately 100 bears every six months, so we've covered one year, or until another need arises. We will continue to have this drive every January, so they don't run out. Though we are happy to help, it is saddening to learn that so many children in our surrounding communities face such harrowing circumstances. We pray each child feels comfort from the love of those who donated to this cause.
